This Privacy Policy explains how Persona ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use our website and services. We're committed to handling your data carefully and transparently.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account.
• Profile information: photos or video recordings used to create a Look-Alike character (Pro plan only). This data is processed to generate your character and is not used for any other purpose.
• Payment information: processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card details.
• Communications: messages you send us via the contact form or email.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data (pages visited, features used, videos generated)
• Device and browser information
• IP address and approximate location
• Referral source and session duration

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the Persona service
• Process your payments and manage your subscription
• Send transactional emails (receipts, video-ready notifications, account alerts)
• Respond to your support requests
• Understand how people use Persona so we can make it better
• Send optional marketing emails if you've opted in (you can unsubscribe anytime)

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data to train AI models belonging to third parties.

3. Sharing your information

We share your information only with the third-party services required to operate Persona:

• Stripe — payment processing
• AWS — cloud infrastructure and video storage
• Postmark — transactional email delivery
• Plausible Analytics — privacy-friendly usage analytics (no cookies, no personal data)

All third-party processors are bound by data processing agreements consistent with applicable privacy law.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies strictly necessary for the service to function (session management, authentication). We use Plausible Analytics for usage tracking, which does not use cookies or collect personal data.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records).

Look-Alike character data (photos/recordings used to build your Profile character) is deleted immediately if you delete the character, or within 30 days of account deletion.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: encrypted data at rest and in transit (TLS 1.3), access controls limited to personnel who need it, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
